Clarence City Council is located on Hobart's eastern shore.
The Clarence Bicycle Working Group is chaired by Cr Bree Hunter and meets four times a year to provide input into the implementation of the Clarence Cycling Strategy.

February 2025 - Have your say on the draft Clarence Cycling Strategy. There are 16 key objectives in the strategy aimed at improving the cycling network. Consultation is open until 14 March 2025. There is an interactive map where you can drop a pin to highlight issues and provide feedback.

Projects
Council started linking isolated sections of foreshore pathways in 2007 and branded them the Clarence Foreshore Trail. Missing sections have incrementally been constructed and older sections upgraded.
Clarence St is an important cycling route, being flat and direct, and connecting Howrah and Tranmere to Rosny Park and the Tasman Bridge.
A proposal to provide an off-road cycleway between the Tasman Bridge and Sorell. A section at Rosny has been constructed and the remainder is identified in the Greater Hobart Cycling Plan and the Clarence Cycling Strategy.
A combination off shared paths and on-road bike lanes are needed to improve this corridor.
